Blenders Can Fly Commercial, with Some Exceptions

So you booked your west coast getaway, and you want to bring your Vitamix. Good news: you can pack it, but at a cost.

On Twitter, everyone from Chrissy Teigan (scalloped potatoes?) to our pal Nancy (blender and lasagna?) have asked for TSA’s guidance on items permissible for air travel.

If you plan on bringing your own blender on a trip sometime soon, here are the official rules:

“Blenders are allowed in carry-on bags if the blade has been removed. Any sharp objects in checked bags should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors.”
